The Truth About the “Scam” in My Home Gym

We’ve all been there. You start a new fitness program with high hopes, but three weeks in, the excitement fades. You aren’t seeing a six-pack, your legs hurt, and suddenly, the program “doesn’t work.”

I’ll be honest: when I first started BODi, I was its biggest critic. I told people it was a scam. I said the workouts weren’t good and that it just didn’t work. But looking back, I was speaking from a place of negativity that wasn’t true.

The “Scam” was Me

I wasn’t failing the program; I was failing to challenge myself.

  • I stayed with 2lb and 3lb dumbbells even though I had heavier ones gathering dust.
  • I didn’t just follow the modifier; I modified the modifier so I never had to sweat.
  • My nutrition was a roller coaster.
  • I quit the moment a move felt hard.
The Alignment Shift

Everything changed when I stopped looking for an “easy” button and started looking for alignment. Fitness isn’t just a video or a gym session; it’s a lifestyle architecture. I started a new journey with the same program, but this time, I changed the variables:

  1. Intensity: I picked up the heavy weights.
  2. Nutrition: I fueled my body instead of just feeding my cravings.
  3. Recovery: I prioritized sleep and “me time” to protect my peace.
  4. The Calendar: I stopped “finding” time and started making time.
The 30-Day Reality Check

If you are thinking of giving up on your health today, ask yourself: Are you actually doing the work, or are you just going through the motions? You won’t see a miracle in a week. But if you align your schedule, your effort, and your mindset, you will be a different person in a month.
