True, it’s not instant. I had an individual, by the way was only 2 weeks in on her new fitness program: no shade intended here, no names just being real, wanting to stop her workouts because there was no “visual” change.
People, really. Why do we get upset and I was once guilty of this also, when we don’t see immediate change in our physique in fitness. To begin our bodies have to adjust, what is your commitment and are you 100 percent into your workouts or are you going through the motion and your nutrition, huh huh, I can’t hear you. Oh, and your body of current change in one week. I’m certain the answer will be no.
If you are new or returning to working out, be it at the gym or streaming, I LOVE streaming for a lot of reasons. Either way you have to slowly or allow your body to become or reacclimate to the routine. Are you committed to the number of days and the length of time? If you commit to 3 X week, do it, choose the days and if you have to change the days that is okay keep the 3X week. If you commit to 20, 30 40 minutes or an hour, make it happen. Now are you using the equipment as should be. For example, if you are able to do bicep curl with 15lbs why are you using 5 lbs.? And if 15 lbs. are too heavy decrease your weights; your body will alert you when to increase because the weight will begin to feel light. Remember it’s your workout your journey, not the individual that just curled with 80(psst they didn’t begin with 80). Are you curling or are you going through the motion and stopping, looking around, instead of 10 or 12 reps you do 3 and move on to another routine. I must have trainer, because I know I need guidance (one of the reasons I stream)
What’s your nutrition, note I used the word nutrition and not diet. Diets are for many temporary and a fix for a certain length of time. Nutrition is adjustment to life forever change. Now please don’t commit to erasing 90% of the foods you currently eat putting your body in starvation mode. I’ll elaborate in another post on “starvation mode”. You can begin slow with calorie deficit. You need nutrition to burn fat, build muscle and improve endurance in workouts. If not, well your workouts will falter.
Listen to your body. If you’re lifting the lift weight will fluctuate; somedays maybe heavier or lighter. This is okay just give it your best. There are a few people with body change within 10 to 14 days. Note “few”. but what about how you feel? Your energy level maybe showing some sign of increase (don’t expect a big jump, applaud the small change because it’s gonna increase). How about that mindset, you’re with greater focus and some of the BS conversation begin to roll off, (yep no longer interested) Now your greatness within is about to climb a ladder to a greater you. By the way these are your non-scale, non-eye seeing victories You know the ones you want instant access to.
I ask of you, PLEASE don’t stop. I’d like you to believe in yourself as I am now believing in you. I ask you to commit, believe and follow the process. We are all different, changes may be quicker for some but if yours is a bit slower enjoy the “non” victories you feel and note about yourself. Others will see those non scale victories and will notice the smallest change in those scale victories. ACCEPT them all.
It’s NOT instant, but it is coming
