Learn How Food Choices Impact Your Fitness Journey

Where is your energy? I had a struggle the first few days this week. I know it was the celebration with family. I did enjoy but once we are on a routine for a minute or two with a change of eating some foods although enjoyable takes a bit longer for the body to digest. This how I faltered in my celebration.

  1. I did workout but I did not as usual feed my body the protein I needed post workout. I did not only Pilates but lifted I starved my muscles. Nor did I eat any vegetables.
  1. I did not hydrate. Hydration for me aides in muscle recovery too. Here is the thing, you MUST know your body. Not mine but yours. So many individuals adjust their nutrition, supplements based on others.

Knowing your body and how it responds to certain nutrition and supplements will assist you on the fitness journey. For example broccoli and brussels sprouts are a big love of mine. I’d been eating so much and was wondering about the bloating and flatulence. To end this story my MD reminded me of certain foods I should eliminate due to my GI issues.

These are 2 healthy foods, recommended and served in many high end restaurants, in salads almost everywhere and yet for me it is a BIG NO. The thing is my body cannot break the foods down to digestions without the stated. KNOW YOUR BODY.

I knew the food I was enjoying I maybe fatigued and I had alcoholic beverages. I don’t drink much and when I do I am well hydrated. My energy was drained on Tuesday. I always drink my favorite pre-workout which helped but my body was stressed.

My recovery I drink water, more than my usual, by mid-day after what seemed like 100 bathroom breaks I was feeling good.

The point here is not to just know your body but what foods has a potential to drain your energy. Stay In TUNE. This does not mean to opt out of celebrations but to prepare in advance.
