The Power Of …..

“Becoming Aware”

Did you know about your power? We all have them but at different levels, however some of us use them and others well they just ignore them.

What is your power. Well one is acknowledging there needs to be a change. It is to continue on a path that offers no rewards, be it a fitness routine or program a personal journey or professional. If you are giving you BEST and have set a time limit to evaluate and note no change it’s time to use your power to check in further.

That check in power is to really dig deeper into yourself. Have you really given your BEST or did you cut a few corners for what ever reason then NO. You did not

If it’s personal or professional journey did you talk to someone you know could possibly assist or give you advice. Did you seek professional advice, how about attending a few classes virtual or in person. Did you examen all resources within your qualified reach. I use the word qualified reach because some times the resources can be a bit pricey and out of your budget reach but guess what? there are many within that budget and the self help books are real as well as a podcasts.

Using self help and pod casts it is necessary to choose those that align with your purpose and goal. Being honest there will be very few that will align 100 percent but there are many that will align 80 – 90 percent. You decide. Most of all don’t waste your time if you are reading and listening and not taking action. I did this for many years. I read, I paid, I joined free classes and took a million notes. I also said how none of it worked. In actuality I really don’t know if they did or did not. Why?, because I never applied any of the actions and if I did it was maybe one thing.

The approach of no action is almost identical to my fitness and workout journey. I’d stop a workout or program and move to another section or program when it was a bit challenging. I choose not to modify or challenge the challenge with action. My shout out was “none of these damn programs work”, why am I not getting any results. Answer – I didn’t apply all the actions just a few and I definitely did not give my BEST. I did not use my power of being AWARE. AWARE I was the culprit. Once I evaluated and became aware I knew to make a change I needed to make not one but several changes.

I say to you, use your power. Once you know changes is due. Don’t ignore and continue on the road of darkness. I need you as I did to open the road the sky to a light. One you can see the path you are traveling. Use your power- ” Become Aware”

Come On Now

I am almost certain I am not the only one who become frustrated after a few times.

I’ve share to many I stream my workouts. At the beginning a few years back this was a comfortable approach as I wasn’t able to get my workouts in. I was in a big need to get my fitness on again. I’d finally threw in the towel knowing I’d ignored myself, weight was coming on like my body was a free ticket to a concert. So I decided on a few CDs I know so outdated, then streaming and I was seeing results but I needed more. I needed to commit to the workouts and then I saw there were programs with daily scheduled workouts for people like me that bounce around. Now on the honest note I did bounce around because I was being challenged, which ha, ha wasn’t for me at THAT time or so I thought. I saw there were nutrition plans not a diet but a change to my eating habits with the foods I love.

BUT it was MY ultimate decision to make the change. I knew what wasn’t working and I knew I had to STOP the BS and make it happen. A few years back when I completed my first full program on BODi I cried. I cried all by myself. Those were tears of awakening myself to belief in me and step up to the next level. That next level continues to grow. The programs and there are many, the supplements and the nutrition plan. I did try several supplements and a few were okay but meeting my needs and the ingredients were a bit overwhelming as I was learning about healthier decisions and ingredients I’d actually look up which one ingredient sometimes can have other ingredients with names I’d be arrested for saying because I’d screw the pronunciation up. Nonetheless I was happy to find out I loved the supplements as well.

What’s my point? uh yeah. Come On Now. We already know what changes we want, we know exactly what we are not doing that is overwhelming what we are doing in a fitness world. We know. People there are no short cuts that work for long. Also if you only one to commit to one day a month in workouts or in tweaking your nutrition well maybe by the time you make it 120 yrs you will accomplish it. WHAT??? You wanted yesterday and you want to do a repeat conversation on fast pacing.

Me too. I want you to fast pace your step and get out of my face with that conversation. You know what to do. You know you have to commit. That commitment is not just for you temporary it’s a NEW, IMPROVED , LOVING, HEALTHY YOU.

If you want it and really want it then I need you to level up and REALLY DO IT. Just start and stop with the thinking about it, the lies of time (because you have it you decide TV or health) or maybe a few other non prospering habits you may have. You know them.

So, “COME ON NOW”, you know what to do.

Don’t Give-Up Reset

How about it? I learned a lesson several years ago and I am going to share. Maybe it will assist someone maybe not; but I am still going to share.

It’s February and being a short month we are well over one half in and think about all those resolutions you’d given up to on January 1. Now truth is that many people stopped mid January and few more hung on to the end of January and so many are thinking well I may need to restart next year I can’t. This is so true for fitness and of course other areas in ones life that may need or want to uplevel.

Don’t give up, Just don’t. RESET. Yes. So this is what happened in January you decided this year I am going to do and make changes with XYZ. You didn’t detail it out, you said and didn’t write it down and you start doubting yourself. Let’s just reset. but how ???

invest in you

RESET– You gave yourself an entire year to achieve which is probably way too much time. Yep time to stop, restart, stop or wait until September or October to see what can you salvage on that failed plan, which wasn’t a failure. YOU failed to apply yourself and gave yourself too much time. I

I just pushed your RESET button. Instead of a year how about shorten the time to maybe 3 months, write it down. And if 3 months is too much how about 2. With any plan if you’re procrastinator you’ve got to reset the mindset and the body to do and keep hitting that reset button. Change your mindset to I can and you will just make the time and keep believing in yourself. Once you get the mindset and body in sync especial on a fitness program you are ready. BUT still short time. Once achieved you are ready to uplevel for the next months still set those months.

Never opting to giving up ALWAYS make it a RESET.

TODAY, and it may take a few minutes, grab your phone for notes, or pen and pad and outline your REQUIREMENTS.

No don’t think about it in your head you’re gonna forget. Write it down. It’s time to up level again to the next level of your Greatness. Taking charge. “YOUR REQUIREMENTS “

Is It The Crowd You Are …..

Yes I know we all may have once upon a time (boy does that sound like a bedtime story), followed the crowd or only went to certain events or joined a gym or social gathering because of specific friends; and if they didn’t want to go, join or be involved well we didn’t either.

It’s a new year, a new time, it’s time to erase that behavior only if you are still following it and only if you want to continue to hide the unique, awesome person you are. Showing up and with the crowd is good. But where is the joy if you prefer to be elsewhere or it’s really not a passion of yours. When we enjoy something there is passion and we can’t wait to do a repeat.

Quick share, my current workout, was one I had interest in and shared with a few friends. I was informed on alternatives as well as encouraged to take a break from workouts. Your results are okay but they are slow and a few encourage me to just give up and join the girls. What they mean is to hang out, let’s work, drink sleep there are other things we can do. Screak, brakes on, hold up, wait a dang minute. You’re asking me to stop all workouts and do nothing. I am an introvert of course I do enjoy socializing sometimes but not on a regular. I also know with this metabolism of mine (which is slower than a snail, but keeps improving in my fitness journey) I’d be so unhappy but guess what? I’d at least be a part of the crowd right?

Well yes but what about the joy of me. Yeah, uh huh and NO. I no longer show up for the crowd unless I decide to pop in. I enjoy my workouts and guess what?. When you enjoy showing up whether your workout is on point (never the same) or any activities you enjoy or professional life you give the best of you. You look forward to the next workout, activity planning or the next day to show up. It’s a passion and it’s a joy.

So to many I say keep doing you. To the others it’s time to stop showing up for the crowd just to appease and please them. There is a crowd available to give you that joy however and allow you to be the unique awesome of yourself. Your choice so…

Is It The Crowd You Are Showing Up For

It’s Non-Negotiable BUT …

I’m talking about you, me and our goals. I prefer the plural form of goal because after accomplishing one it is time to set up actions for the next one. Everyday in our lives is important and we add value by applying action and please, please apply POSITIVE action,

Today in applying action to an upcoming new for me network I became frustrated. Do I really want to do this? Why am I so frustrated and then I did the worse thing for me. Don’t judge me because the worst for me may bring you joy. For me was to go onto the internet. Frustration was heightened to a new level. Deep breaths, time to meditate. I decided to take it to the backyard and so glad I did. I connected with nature and the air and no, it’s not cold here actually today was in the 80’s. It did take a minute to get that focus in while a stray but friendly cat came to join me. Always welcoming the friendly cat. I meditated with a relief to me.

I realized that anger and frustration will not solve anything and it will delay what should be a pleasant progressive day to a blah blah no accomplished day. Well not as accomplish because I’d already worked out Pilates and a spin. The frustration also raised the level to giving in and up and negative behavior will skip in. Meditation deleted it all for me. It is so easy to allow the happenings in society to affect our self growth. This by all means doesn’t mean it isn’t real or may not affect us on any level. However WE (that’s you, me and others of positive mindset and actions ) must be so dedicated to ourselves that we give our growth a PRIORITY. Most of all know the “WHY” we decided on our path.

That is what I’d forgotten today I was frustrated and wanted to throw up my hands and if I thought I wouldn’t fall my legs today. All because I’d forgotten or pushed my “WHY” to the back. After meditating re connecting to my why and myself I felt good.

Recommendation should you experience any frustrations just take a deep breathe and a few minutes alone to meditate. We need to sometimes reconnect with ourselves to get back to our “WHY”. If meditation is a chore for you because it is not always easy I can recommend a few short sites and if it is a practice you are easy to do then include it in the times you know is greatly beneficial to you.

How I Was Wrong On This Workout

Have you ever prejudged a workout from past experience? Well that is exactly what I am guilty of. I am not or I wasn’t a fan of Pilates. I was so interested in this program (Belle Vitale) because of the hormone benefits that were highlighted. I wasn’t a fan of the workouts only because my experiences with Pilates have been just not for me. If it’s included in any of my streaming workouts I’m in but not a fan.

However this workout mimics Pilates as if you have the big Pilates equipment in your home. It has been challenging and rewarding in results completing Phase 1. The nutrition plan I thought was outrageous. And again I gotta raise my hand for “being WRONG”. The amount of food I had to consume seemed overwhelming. I guess I wasn’t eating enough. It did take a few days to adjust. THE RESULTS after 4 weeks are shocking. The increased muscle tone, the scale going down and inches lost. The greatest of all is……….

I have fallen in love with Pilates.

So, sometimes we have to believe 100 percent and not 50 as well as follow the process for change. I’m glad I did and so welcome Phase 2.

It Really Is Okay To Celebrate

Am I getting in too deep? Maybe. I was just sitting and listening during a recent zoom call waiting for the host to slide in before I gagged myself listening to conversations with a little understanding but not a lot. What was it?

Females discussing how they liked “ valentines Day”, with what seems like a thousands but. I can’t eat the chocolate, I can’t have desserts, the meal maybe overpowering in calories, if I get a drink it may have too many carbs and on and on. You got to be kidding me. You ate heartily during Thanksgiving and Christmas, most was in a drunken stupor the day after New Year celebration. And that one day. The day when an individual wants to follow a tradition and share their love or just caring as a friend and you want to put brakes on.

Okay I understand you probably made a commitment to a healthier fitness and or nutrition journey for 2025. I’m applauding you now. But don’t forget about life. Don’t forget the people who want to express luv and care to and with you.

It is one day. You don’t have to over indulge. However I asking you to enjoy the day. You will not be repeating it for days just that one special when we increase our love emotions. So I say go ahead and enjoy. I’m going to give you a few recipes from nutrition plans that are offered in BODi. Go ahead and try them out, enjoy then give me feedback on the one you use.

Oh My My

This is going to be a soft and sore topic. I am tipping about. To begin I am NOT coming for anyone nor am I throwing shade or being specific to anyone in particular just sharing my experience and how I feel.

I recently invited a friend or so I thought to join me in a new program I am doing in fitness. It is a hormone balance and fitness program with supplements and a nutrition plan that to me requires more food but since I am seeing a few inches disappear maybe I’ve been neglecting myself and was unaware. I always say if you believe then follow the plan, change does not happen in a few days. Nonetheless returning to the friend I invited and was shock with the response.

” I need to see how Lydia (not the real name), feels about this? and if she will be on board” Huh oh was my only response. REALLY DAMMIT!!! Are we as gracefully loving aging females still co-existing with each other? where is the grown up ? Making a decision you feel will benefit you should be about you. Yes, we do have to discuss things with spouses, significant others but to wait for a friends approval I say NO and a BIG LONG HARD NO.

I think it is awesome to surround ourselves with those supporting our fitness journey or even if it’s personal growth but to have approval NO. I guess I miss cues as I recall on several invites the friend would decline if her bestie wasn’t invited or felt different but expected the friend to be always present in whatever her decision was. Appalled yes. I wonder now on discussions of things she wanted to do to enhance her lifestyle the reasons she didn’t follow through was because waiting for someone else to approve. Not wanting to start a argument or heated disagreement I just replied “Okay”

We all have friends and we may not be on the same page 100 percent, but that support should be there. We don’t have to align our lives with our friends, bestie, BFF but love and support. We are unique and different in our own way. Yep, I’m still in my Hormone balance program and if you’d asked me a month or two about Pilates of course there is more to this, but I would have answered “it’s okay”. But today with this program and the trainer I love Pilates. Oh and it’s not the floor Pilates well only for the warm up.

Confidence

I’ve listened to several pod casts which led me to re-evaluate myself on confidence and also to realize I am so so guilty in delaying what I want to achieve on somedays because I take so long feel confident.

I have learned and as always every day is growth and learning. I know the action to apply as do you, but there are times we wait for that right moment to do it. I’ve learned I must first believe in myself and just do it. Stop waiting and shake that noisy clutter in your head away FAST. You know that fear noise giving you unvaluable excuses to delay a positive action. And forbid those negative nayers we have as friends. We love them but still we have to step away and then return because they and that clutter will pull that CONFIDENT meter down.

CONFIDENT

I say take a few deep breathes, release with joy and power up for the action. Confidence come with the thought of:

1. Believing in you

2. Know what you want to achieve

3. Willing to apply the necessary acion

4. Know there will sometimes be challenges and you can handle the challenges

5 Sometimes excusing yourself from those that don’t see your vision and want to restrain you. Really they just don’t see because of their limited vision and believes

6. ALWAYS know – ‘YOU GOT THIS”

All that confident
