I am so pushing through for strength as my injury gets better but I must admit on a few days last week I over did it and I had to ice and elevate for hours.
Change especially with an injury in the fitness arena as I have become so addicted to is depressing. Of course not to the point of inflicting harm on my self but being limited. I can still lift weights but not too heavy and it takes a minute t get them near me. Of course it’s the home gym but the weight are not near the weight bench and I have to steady myself on 1.5 legs. I still have restricted weight on the left. My mobility is so much better and I am more than grateful for my progress. I have to keep the benchin one position because I cannot get up and down so fast so a few lifts are not my greatest.
But it takes good strength to keep pushing through. Now this is not the strength of weight lifting but the strength of mindset.
Stay strong and keep the strength to accomplish your fitness goals. I’m there with you.
As I continue on my fitness and before I complete the post I will stop just for a moment. If YOU are anyone you know that is interested in working out at home and would love to join me and begin their own or even you, your own fitness journey, I welcome you and just send me your email for additional information. No commitment just info.
Back to this transition thing, on my journey I workout, giving my 100 and am so disappointed when I do not see the changes I want. Should I stop? what the heck am I doing incorrect? Is it time to look at another program? Did my nutrition get off? Just WHAT?
I ask myself all these questions and there are answers. It’s usually my nutrition and I forget to look at the non-scale victories. I know I have shared this before and will continue at intervals to remind myself and you. When on a fitness journey we will have so many non scale victories overlooked.
That scale can be a friend and an enemy. How so because we forget the non scale victories and these are actually what gives us strength. How. well the scale cannot weigh in on how you’ve improved your positive attitude in life even more so than normal (because I know you’re already positive), your commitment to yourself and respect to yourself and others. How your energy is higher and you are doing more for YOUR life as well as happier. Your clothes are looser and you’ve increased your weight lifting range, run longer, jump higher or step higher. Now if this could be weighed in on the transition it would be awesome, but it can’t.
What now, well it’s up to you and me. It’s our mindset and we must remind ourselves of the victories we have achieved on a fitness journey. But don’t stop with the fitness journey on any journey in your life look at the accomplishments. We’re closer than we think.
CLOSER, yes because if we continue I know the change we are moving towards is there. I know if I continue on my fitness journey that transition is there. KEYWORDS continue and don’t stop.
I know I am not the only one that experience a week beginning like this. Like what? Well I have a list of TO DO so long that I’m not sure where to begin.
Usually I prioritize but looking at this list it’s so similar to a double booking. BUT I know after my workout well my second workout I will have figured at least a solution and start applying action to this list.
My workouts with the adrenaline flow aides my mindset and focus, today that’s a refocus. Will this work for you maybe so maybe no. There are so many ways to handle a double booking in life: workout, meditation (yoga/ or just sitting quietly). Set a timer for that sitting quiet as you don’t want to sit the day away. A jog, walk then begin the organization of your day.
All of the stated works for me, but today it’s working out. How do you handle your not sure where to begin?
Now what does that mean, well a lot but I’ll explain, it’s really simple.
I was sharing in general conversation, as I love to share my workouts especially my progress, but I’m a good listener for anyone else who is sharing. Okay in a recent share it was about me increasing my weight lift and weights and squats. This individual said I would like to increase my weights but with all that is going on I cannot purchase any.
Got it sometimes we definitely have to decide how, where and when we are going to spend our coins. So if you don’t have or can not purchase additional weights be it dumbbells, free weights, bumper weights the adjustable weights how about this. Make a wish list to yourself, I have so many items on that list and cross out each time I purchase my wish; but for the current situation just increase your reps with the weights you have.
Increasing the reps will give you the same benefit as increasing the weight with decreased reps. I call it erasing. My excuses and implementing a new game plan.
So this week erase the excuses and come on make a new game plan.
Nope, I don’t. I brag and share when I increase my weights or beginning a new workout program. By the way did I share with you I have the option to over 700 plus workouts with trainers that are too AWESOME, if this interest you or you just want to try or add something new to your workout leave me a message. Okay back to my no shame.
There are days when my RA is flaring or I’m a bit fatigue or that nagging voice trying to encourage me to do something than a workout ( in other words just be lazy). Well how do I handle these days, I modify. I have no shame in modifying a workout, will I modify every day NO but there are days of justified excuses. No shame. Should I wait until when….. No because when may take too long. When, for me allows the excuses to build, I must erase the excuses.
Modification does give you results and if you’re still giving your 💯 or more the workout is a success, the change is still in process, the adrenaline flow is there and oh my the feel good post any good workout is awarding.
To you I say in any workout or goals of life – erase the excuses, modify, change the pace TEMPORARILY and most of all HAVE NO SHAME. Keep moving
On my fitness journey and just life I read books that both motivate me to stay focus on my goals and listen to podcasts of many. My recent podcast of motivation and inspiration is AWESOME and RELATABLE. Of course I’m reading books as well.
What is your inspiration or motivation this week or for the month ?
Yes, I am and oh, that’s not a matrimony knot but I probably should think about that approach. I am tying the knot to my commitments to my workouts and nutrition. I have slightly fallen off. Now look I’m still working out but not as long or should I say as much as I usually do. I’m doing only one workout, occasionally I will do two but greater on one. I can feel the difference in my body and I’ve got to tie that knot of commitment.
The saying is 21 days and you’re committed and that works for a lot of people because so many scream it. For me, I just need to write it down on a calendar, place it so I may see it daily and I’m good once the motion is going for one week I’m committed.
Really, of course now if I don’t enjoy the feeling then yes its possible there maybe a change and that is why I believe you must enjoy and believe in what you do. I do enjoy working out so the joy is already there it’s allowing other things in life interfere with my workout and I am committing to “no more”.
Life happens and I need to keep my focus on my fitness journey. As for you do you need to tie the knot again? Is there or has there been an interference in your commitment?, If so join me let’s tie the knot again. To Greatness in RENEWING OUR COMMITMENT.
There are days I’m not sure if I want to workout or when/ Now don’t misinterpret I hate working out because I love it, enjoy it; however there are days I just feel a bit lazy for awhile.
When this happens I can only justify for a few minutes because there really isn’t an excuse. With my streaming programs, the community that is involved I can do a workout in 10-45 minutes if I just want a change for the day because each workout has a calendar. If you have never had an inspiring, motivational community then you have got to try my community. Beachbody On Demand Homepage: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com?referringRepID=1262129. It’s a community like no other. ok now on with igniting
Okay I will go onto social media and see the inspiring comments from my previous workouts or view someone else on their workouts or just log onto wp and see inspiring posts from those I follow or and follow me. Fire is higher when I listen to one of my many pod casts and then I am lit, on fire and ready to prepare for a great workout more so a great workout. Sometimes we just need a little push.
That’s right, I need you to stop that insanity. I hear this a lot and I wonder, when will so many stop focusing on what the condition of health was in yester years. Truth people didn’t live as long, didn’t have the medical knowledge as of today, and just thought it was normal to stop doing certain activities after a certain age.
WE have evolved in the fitness arena so just stop saying if you were younger because you are not but you can still do it. Yes but only if you want to.
It’s NOT Your AGE, it’s you. All you, no one else but you of course your age too, but your age isn’t stopping you from being active it’s you. SO now I need you to rephrase that excuse. How about, “It’s not my age because I’m making changes in my fitness life, slow but change , I will no longer use my age as an excuse. I know there are so many workouts I can do and only a few I’m not able to and some I will be able to at a later date. It’s NOT MY AGE”
I was asked the question of what’s my “niche” in workouts. I was stunned by the question, fumbled for an answer and just didn’t know how to respond. I didn’t know there was a “niche” for workouts and I really did not answer. The person who asked me responded “so you just do whatever?”. My response was no but please share what type of fitness are you doing?. No response, nothing, I think I heard an ant snore.
Really is there a niche for workouts ? I do follow a calendar, controlled, streaming workout but a “niche”. I need to refocus. Nope I don’t have a niche in my workouts I enjoy others more than others and that depends on my energy and sometimes the challenges make me want to stop (but I don’t).
So for anyone out there trying to find out if I have what I never, ever heard of until recently a NICHE, the answer is NO. I love let me see, hmm, let me think. Oh yeah, got it I love barre (barre blend), boxing (10 Rounds) and a few you tube boxing workouts, Lifting (Liift4, Body Beast, ) and all workouts on beachbodyondemand. I love running on pavement and the treadmill, walking, jogging, yoga, Pilates and dancing. Okay dancing not sure if you know but beach body has dance workouts yep and you burn the calories and not just a few.
