I was asked this question by someone knowing I have RA and workout as she also have RA and continues to use excuses to workout a couple of days month. Yes you read it a month. I am not making mockery of anyone for we all have limitations just some of us know how to adjust IF WE ARE COMMITTED.
The weather does not affect my workouts completely. This is not a yes or no question for ME. I may have a flare especially in my left thumb discomfort. I can always when this occur adjust my position on push ups as well as decrease my weight lift range.
Now what does affect my joints is my nutrition. Certain foods will send me into a full flare of the joints, swelling and the pain is out of control. How do I overcome well I drink a sea of water or so it seems because I am trying to flush out the good tasty high in everything toxic for my body but still good. Of course if I’d just take a few bites, I will not experience the flare. Before I close food is not the only contributing factor to a RA flare and I’ve been with the auto-immune disease since childhood.
If you’re committed and your intentions are aligned with your actions you adjust, erase the excuses, scale back but not down when necessary but YOU KEEP MOVING.
Nope, I don’t. I brag and share when I increase my weights or beginning a new workout program. By the way did I share with you I have the option to over 700 plus workouts with trainers that are too AWESOME, if this interest you or you just want to try or add something new to your workout leave me a message. Okay back to my no shame.
There are days when my RA is flaring or I’m a bit fatigue or that nagging voice trying to encourage me to do something than a workout ( in other words just be lazy). Well how do I handle these days, I modify. I have no shame in modifying a workout, will I modify every day NO but there are days of justified excuses. No shame. Should I wait until when….. No because when may take too long. When, for me allows the excuses to build, I must erase the excuses.
Modification does give you results and if you’re still giving your 💯 or more the workout is a success, the change is still in process, the adrenaline flow is there and oh my the feel good post any good workout is awarding.
To you I say in any workout or goals of life – erase the excuses, modify, change the pace TEMPORARILY and most of all HAVE NO SHAME. Keep moving
Well I know you already know but really who is the ultimate leader.
Are you looking for a leader to assist you or stand by you on your fitness journey, so was I. I even used it as an excuse. There is no one to assist me on my fitness journey, I need someone to show me what to do do, I need a leader. I bet you’ve said it not just on a fitness journey but life.
We have access to so many people to help us, guide us tell us what to do and how. Here is the thing people. They are out mentors BUT they cannot do the work for us.
Lesson to be learned. They are our mentors motivational leaders, fitness trainers, and so on OUR MENTORS.
The LEADER IS YOU and ME. They cannot do the work for us. WE ARE THE ULTIMATE LEADERS OF OUR LIFE so now it’s time to exhibit our strength be the greater persons we are.
Did you know because every day I’m learning. I know a positive mindset assist so much in seeing and enjoying life to our utmost. But the mindset in pushing through and acquiring daily goals, yes this include working out and just life.
I began a new workout BOD and I knew it was high intensity and I as always do a quick usually 5 minutes meditation 🧘♀️. If you have to just modify do it focus on giving your 100. Was it a high intensity workout, Yes, but I pushed through and did not modify but I was soaked with sweat 😓 after the workout. I was proud of myself and the mindset. Not just for me but for You as well. Stop second guessing your capability and toss out those limiting thoughts and beliefs – just adjust for your 100 if necessary. Keep the mindset on a high, greater than 100 because your goals, my goals, our goals are waiting and a few have been waiting for awhile. It’s time we reached them and move to a higher goal.
I think you may have forgotten as I shared recently while conversing with with a friend. We were just chatting about self care and what we do. The list, well her list was long mine was short. Facials (cleanse, massage, mask, hot oil, lotion), body massage, foot massage, my nails(I do myself) and the warm bubble bath just thinking about it. Now her list was on and on so I silently assumed she just sat a whole week aside or maybe two.
I threw in an important one “workouts”. I heard air flowing for a minute without sound, What? Yes working out for me is more than the physical input. It helps with my energy and mindset. I enjoy the sweat and the adrenaline flow puts me in a stronger, positive mode and really helps me through the day in so many ways. I also explained this to her and she didn’t agree. I accepted that, sometimes we just have to agree to disagree and not change our mind. I stand strong, yep my workouts are a part of my self care the effects are so awarding.
There are days I’m not sure if I want to workout or when/ Now don’t misinterpret I hate working out because I love it, enjoy it; however there are days I just feel a bit lazy for awhile.
When this happens I can only justify for a few minutes because there really isn’t an excuse. With my streaming programs, the community that is involved I can do a workout in 10-45 minutes if I just want a change for the day because each workout has a calendar. If you have never had an inspiring, motivational community then you have got to try my community. Beachbody On Demand Homepage: https://www.beachbodyondemand.com?referringRepID=1262129. It’s a community like no other. ok now on with igniting
Okay I will go onto social media and see the inspiring comments from my previous workouts or view someone else on their workouts or just log onto wp and see inspiring posts from those I follow or and follow me. Fire is higher when I listen to one of my many pod casts and then I am lit, on fire and ready to prepare for a great workout more so a great workout. Sometimes we just need a little push.
That sounds so conflicting stop and start, but yes Please.
I say this for the females that don’t support each other on a fitness journey. I’ve recently read negative post on an individual I follow and I was blown away. Have I ever received negative posts for certain and I either respond positively (which is not always easy) or say nothing. This individual is sharing her journey and making changes and all so many can see is her current flaws and focus on that. REALLY, it’s about her, me and all the females on a fitness journey. It’s not easy but I will ask this – What Are You Doing? Is Your Life So Perfect? Do You Want or See ANY Change For Your Growth? What Journey DO You Need to Start (its okay that you’ve bashed someone else because me an so many others will be there to support you) WHY, because we love to empower those moving on in a positive direction making positive changes.
Today, if you are one that is bashing just STOP and START empowering. I’m done. To weeks of FEMALES EMPOWERING EACH OTHER.
That’s right, I need you to stop that insanity. I hear this a lot and I wonder, when will so many stop focusing on what the condition of health was in yester years. Truth people didn’t live as long, didn’t have the medical knowledge as of today, and just thought it was normal to stop doing certain activities after a certain age.
WE have evolved in the fitness arena so just stop saying if you were younger because you are not but you can still do it. Yes but only if you want to.
It’s NOT Your AGE, it’s you. All you, no one else but you of course your age too, but your age isn’t stopping you from being active it’s you. SO now I need you to rephrase that excuse. How about, “It’s not my age because I’m making changes in my fitness life, slow but change , I will no longer use my age as an excuse. I know there are so many workouts I can do and only a few I’m not able to and some I will be able to at a later date. It’s NOT MY AGE”
The title seems as if I’ve repeated myself and I have. In a recent share on IG and FB ( I post daily motivation quotes and how I interpret to apply for life).
Individualizing yourself. This is one that I had to reflect on as I created the quote. It is so easy to mimic the life of others. We take the advice of others but then I notice people try to emulate that person 100 percent n then just stop their growth because they see themselves as a failure. This is not so. Why?, What?
It is great to take the advice of others especially if it’s positive and can assist on whatever journey you’re currently traveling. I use travel because a journey toward any goal is like a road trip. The terrain changes. Okay back to YOU. Taking the advice does not mean to try to emulate their life. You nor I do not know what their entire journey has been and nor do we know ALL the solutions. We do know what is being shared but in applying all the good advice and inspiration, don’t forget you.
Forgetting YOURSELF will make the journey tougher, longer and you will loose your identity. As we ( you and I) continue on our journey let’s remember learn from others and apply within OUR life but to be honest and true to ourselves. I’ll be me and YOU be YOU.
I ask “ Is it YOU”. To a great week, month of Individualizing.
On the journey to fitness there are so many components but one I almost forgot until I went out late in the evening and looked up. I should say late at night and looked up, then I remembered.
What did I remember? Well it was so relaxing, quiet every now and then a vehicle but all in all so relaxing and my mind relaxed. What you ask?, the pleasure, appreciation of quiet moments with nature. The sky with the stars and the moon it was just a connection. I do yoga but not consistently, I am quiet especially when I’m praying The Rosary. But this is so different, have I ever did this type of meditation? yes. Yes, I have but it has been such a long time and again the connection to the universe, my prayers to God, my appreciation of life had a new feeling and meaning. At this time I’m not certain what days and how many days a week, but this will become a routine. I miss this connection just didn’t realize because I forgot.
How about you? What have you forgotten that really had an impact on your life, assisted in creating, awakening the greatness in you ? Whatever it is, is time to renew that relationship. YOUR GREATNESS
