It is so important to know your body and how it responds under stress. Under stress I mean a workout. Everyone does not respond the same.
There are different times and I have no idea what make a difference I will have what I call “my jump to it juice” powerful energy drink to get me started on my workout. My juice gives me that extra I need to push harder especially if it’s a weight lifting day included with an intense cardio workout. Now there are days I have to have substance like food which is usually almond butter on multi grain toast with 1/4 banana sliced. However unlike my juice which I am ready to go for it in 20-30 minutes, I must wait an hour. I know an hour is a lot of time too many but I will get so nauseous if I push it. There are friends that can eat a nice healthy breakfast and 20- 30 minutes later they are fueled up and ready to give their workout 100 +. I can’t, Ive tried several times not for me.
Now on the other side there are so many can go on a cup of strong coffee or just nothing. Again it is important to know what works for you to begin your workout and to endure the workout. Yes now that you are in it, make certain you also are hydrated well during your workout. Know your body because H20 maybe enough but you may need to add electrolytes, there are many choices or a few dashes of Himalayan salt. Just stay tuned to the body and know what works and what doesn’t.
To weeks of getting your body fueled for awesome workouts.
Puzzling as it sounds, I had a third leg or so it felt like. I often reflect on his to remind myself of again my transition and gains on my fitness journey. I know I’ve shared this before and it is necessary for me to reflect on.
I have a history of horrible eating disorder. Yes I’ve been through it all, anorexia- which I could go for a month or longer on water or a Sonic Route 44 once a day. Bulemia if I consumed a meal greater than 500 calories or another bulemia is to workout until my burn has 3 to 4 times greater than my intake. Oh yes I occasionally abused laxatives. I was thin shapely an VERY VERY unhealthy.
On the flip of this I went through phases of just binging and binging and yes you guessed it, more binging. I was large and angry because the manufacturers were making their clothes smaller. I was not willing to accept the fact I was eat and had eaten out of smaller sizes. I yo-yo for a minute then the third leg reality came.
I had a third leg. I had gone from XS scrubs to XL and they were getting tight. I one day put on my scrubs, right leg, left leg and I literally had to raise my abdomen up and drop it in my scrubs. Now most people gain abdominal weight all around no mine just hung like a leg. I privately cried and did not want to use the bathroom at work because of how long it took to undress and redress after doing my business. I took a look and knew I needed to change and that’s when my fitness journey begin.
Do I fall off track sometimes but guess what? I don’t have a third leg and NO I’m not back in XS scrubs but I am in M and they are getting just a bit loose but nearly enough for a small.
I eat normally, my intake fluctuates as so my craving but thanks to “ultimate portion fix and the containers” also 2BMindset my nutrition is one of health. My workouts are all on point, streamed Beachbodyondemand.
So bye,bye third leg and on with my fitness journey. To you I send my best that you can wave bye to anything in your life you are not excited about and move forward to your goal or goals as they just keep coming.
That sounds so controversial and I know you’d think no way . Well yes it can. I’m not speaking in the terms of grading or money I’m speaking in giving the best of yourself . For me for now I’m speaking of my workouts. There are days and not consistently but my workouts are not what we say “100” and it maybe a 50 compared to the previous day’s workout; BUT if my energy is down, or I’m fighting off an illness or for no apparent reason a 5 lb weights feels like a 40 lbs. Now with any of these known factor if I give my best I am giving 100.
Just to share as I had this conversation recently if you give your best and not holding back you are a 100. To 100 in each of your workouts as I will continue to give 100 in each of my workout.
It was just one day and that day was Monday – Memorial Day, I decided to skip my workout, but I did my steps in moving about but again I skipped my workout. I did not feel guilty but my body is so programmed I noticed a change in energy.
Tuesday’s workout was good, no great but I had to push myself since it was so easy to skip Monday’s workout. Now there are times when my schedule change and life throws us curves that we have to make adjustments. However being committed and focusing on goals, for me its “my fitness journey”. Just a share if you’re not committed you can make an excuse everyday that will deter your goals.
What the heck am I saying, well it’s easy stay committed to your goals, even if you get off course for one day and maybe two but don’t make it an end.
Every trainer has a different approach to workouts. To many just watching will deter your thoughts. How so because you might think as I’ve done in the past that it is too much.
Every trainer I’ve worked out with has been GOOD. Really each one, no kidding, each one. I know this seems like a lie, but it’s not. I’ve had trainers at the gym and of course I do now workout a home, love beachbody. I want to clarify NOW as I’ve been confronted for having such a support for beachbody and home workouts. With my fluctuating schedule and other responsibilities going to the gym was not able to help with my fitness journey as I was able to make it to the gym once maybe twice a week and sometimes not at all. Home workouts gave me a freedom And I am able to keep my goal and fitness journey in focus.
Returning to “trainers”. Trainers have a different approach but they all have the same outcome. The trainer may not be the BEST for you for whatever reason. PLEASE let’s show respect and not BADMOUTH a trainer. Just move on to one that works for you as well as challenge you.
If you don’t have a trainer or feel you don’t need one okay. Just keep a schedule of your workouts and increase, routines, reps, weights and add another this will prevent the muscles and body from being complacent.
Beachbody has many trainers and for whatever your level of fitness is and with this offer I had to earn instead of running away from a challenging trainer to modify and continue. This is how I’ve learned different approach, yet challenging, satisfying workouts. I do cry sometimes, and I huff and puff, I fall down also I question the sanity of trainers when I am challenged. BUT once again they’re ALL GOOD.

Once again here I am sharing my fitness journey, I love to because really it is not easy as a 1, 2, 3. I have to prepare. I have to mentally tell my self WHY I am on the journey, which sometimes require a few minutes of meditation. The meditation helps me to prepare my mind and body, to calm down to temporarily remove thoughts of the what needs to be done later, and concerns of others …. I have to focus on myself .
I focus on my strength and power within to give my all or as I usually say my 100 through the entire workout. Just a reminder my 100 varies it can be be an 80 but for that day it is a 100 because that is what’s in the tank .
My favorite “JUMP TO IT JUICE”, which I drink 20- 30 prior to my workouts on 80% of my workouts propels me to higher levels of energy.
I’m sure there are a few things I may add to my preparation, but these are the tops and they work for me.
To a week of productive and awesome workouts also to filling your 100.
