My fitness journey has hills, mountains, winding roads, slopes, gravel and smooth surface. I encounter them all and my lesson which I have to focus on is “Stay Committed “.
Having a relationship with myself, just slain for knowing your mindset and your weakness; I know mine most of them when it comes to working out. I know if I come to a complete halt in my workouts for greater than two days, I’m setting myself up for a failure or probably a hard restart. With this said I encountered an almost halt on my workouts today.
My fitness journey is me following a workout and calendar and sometimes as I am now for the next several days combining two workouts. Today I increased weights, jumped higher, lunged lower and just put on a “you got this show”. I was all in and when it came to my second workout my muscles were burning. The energy was still there but I didn’t want to push through to injury or super exhaustion, I’ve been there. What did I do? Well there is a modifier in my workouts and I followed the modifier for half of my second workout then I was able to return to normal workout.
Modifying does not make it easier, you still have to push hard and give it your best or “100”. It just mean a decrease in your lunge, or decrease in your jump maybe a bounce. There are many who think modifying is for beginners or those testing the waters of a workout. All FALSE. Now I know because I’ve heard I wouldn’t want to modify any workout, I’d rather wait until I can do it for the ultimate gain.
I will not bash, trash or argue the “wait”, but will you start. I will continue to reiterate. First make a decision that you really want to make a change (I’m talking about workouts but it can apply to any goals in life). Ready for the change then COMMIT . This is why I modified and why I push through. I am committed to my fitness journey whether my results are slow or fast because without the commitment my results will be, oh yeah I will not have any results.
To weeks of commitment to yourself and to your goals as I am.

Once again here I am sharing my fitness journey, I love to because really it is not easy as a 1, 2, 3. I have to prepare. I have to mentally tell my self WHY I am on the journey, which sometimes require a few minutes of meditation. The meditation helps me to prepare my mind and body, to calm down to temporarily remove thoughts of the what needs to be done later, and concerns of others …. I have to focus on myself .
I focus on my strength and power within to give my all or as I usually say my 100 through the entire workout. Just a reminder my 100 varies it can be be an 80 but for that day it is a 100 because that is what’s in the tank .
My favorite “JUMP TO IT JUICE”, which I drink 20- 30 prior to my workouts on 80% of my workouts propels me to higher levels of energy.
I’m sure there are a few things I may add to my preparation, but these are the tops and they work for me.
To a week of productive and awesome workouts also to filling your 100.
I am loving my workouts and am really trying to add on more as I really can tell the difference when I extend my workouts. I’m sure many who read my blog know that I am a HUGE FAN of BEACHBODY. Yes I love working out at home with over 700 workouts and trainers to choose from and a schedule to follow- that really sounded like a commercial. UM well it wasn’t just sharing my workout regimen. Any who I sometimes combine a couple depending on the trainer.
I do rise at 3AM a couple of days to get in a workout prior to a long commute in other days I am good for 8 or 9 AM occasionally late evenings when a curve ball is thrown into my schedule. I was asked and told that’s too early, you need to be sleeping. Well maybe but I go to bed early to get at least 6 hours of sleep on the early AM . ALSO I know if you want CHANGE you have to make a CHANGE.
On my fitness journey I am making changes and if my traveling road gets rocky and taking me nowhere then I evaluate and what, yes make a change.
Beginning any fitness activity requires at some point. Drastic changes well I think it has to be what is suitable for the individual just like increasing weights, running longer or further in a shorter time. The BIGGEST factor in any fitness journey regardless of the reason is to ENJOY it , okay two factors and HAVE FUN.
To upcoming days of Enjoyable and FUN workouts because you as I have made time for our change
My workout time varies and I am noticing a different in my energy after specific times.
My early AM workouts after I have completed my duties to the canines and felines of the house as I have recently found out they are the Royalty, me just their servant. Anyways after and I get my workout on my adrenaline flow is high and I am feeling Great, my focus is higher and I really do accomplish more in less time.
On those days, which are few but they remain, I drag about pondering on things mostly what I can’t change immediately it takes a minute or two to get my mindset into workout mode. Once my mind is there I have noticed I don’t have the same level of energy after even though I have given my 100 in the workout. I am really trying to figure this one out as well as make less time on pondering.
TRUE, TRUE TRUE, I enjoy working out, I am one that believe it is not an age limit. I know there are individuals of all ages that have limits of mobility, aches and pain. The body immune system does not attack according to age.
I have been blessed to meet individuals of all ages, sizes and definitely ailments. The one thing I encourage them all as they may say I wish I could walk, run, or be as active as I was before….., How do you feel about yourself. About yourself, not your physical mirror reflection because sometimes I run from mine and the picture of my last 5K I should keep running.
Okay back to YOURSELF, the inner you, your greatness, the positive mindset you share with others, how you have assisted a friend, your family, your child, neighbor the mean or nice coworker. How many hours of sleep have you forsaken to assist someone, the compliments you give, your smile, your laughter, your hug, your nod was great too. There is so many more words to describe the inner beauty of you just take a moment and look inside. YOU ARE AWESOME and YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH THE CHANGE YOU SEEK.
To the moments you are LOOKING INSIDE and the beauty of it all, Have a GREAT ONE>
I am in my second week of changing my routine and not just for my workouts. I read a lot of motivational self-help and inspiring books. I have also learned in my readings I am unable to apply all I am reading because it does not apply to me well not at the moment but maybe in growth I can apply.
With this said I have and continue to learn to adjust my life’s and workout routine to better fit my Life and with positive outcomes. At one time I was so confused in gathering my learnings and applying but learning and applying means that which will assist you for now. The other learned knowledge may need to be applied later. It’s the momentum of growth. However you may need to perhaps reread or highlight so later you can find that motivational point later.
I want to share what I have learned, it all works, just know when to apply, and when it does not apply to you at the moment.
CHANGE and GROWTH is GOOD, make this week another Growth of Greatness for YOU.
This was last week, to begin I am usually a bit more organized and 90% on top of my meal planning. However when it is slow at work and I am stretching out my time I get a bit hyper. Not bad well, yes, if you complete task ahead of time and there is time left.
I had my breakfast, lunch and snack. Breakfast consumed AM snack gone and I was hyper, beyond and I decided to try just one or what should have been none. I had one Reese’s miniature cup. Yum so good but then I remembered I had put out more than one type not just the normal chocolate peanut butter cup, but there was dark chocolate and white chocolate. Honestly the flavor is almost the same but me being bored tried another and another and yes you get the pic. Before I knew it I had not one but eight wrappers on my desk.
I had allowed myself to be tempted by myself, no one else to blame, just me. Shamefully I wrapped the wrappers in paper towel, tossed it in the garbage, and did what I should have prior to overdosing on a chocolate peanut butter rush. I swallowed WATER. Yes water and lots of it. Was I craving Reese’s, no I was hyper and bored.
I was unable to rewrite my sugar consumption however I became knowledgeable on craving and bored. Usually my cravings are satisfied with a few bites, but my overindulgence when I am bored is limitless. I MUST get better. I was extremely happy when my next infusion patient came, work.
I know avoid the snacks, maybe but I order them for the patients I infuse and Reese’s is not the only chocolate or snack available. I purchase snacks according to the patients. The worse thing is to order a lot of healthy and good snacks you have to toss because no one, well maybe a few will eat.
I know my behavior when I am bored and should not allowed myself to be tempted. I am vowing to remind myself of this. How about you? Really do you eat for nutrition or is your intake affected sometimes by LIFE? You are normal just evaluate and place a system to avoid the extreme intake.
